Monday, YC117-11-2: I still sit in rage about the stupid care bears that had have my small tower removed by mercenaries. With only the word revenge in my mind, I lingers around in Teonusude, stalking the location where my possessions once were anchored.

There they are as if nothing had happ…  Wait a second, why are there so many criminal flagged pilots at that POS? Oh, they are not in the corporation of the POS but in a NPC corporation. And they repair incapacitated POS modules. And that corporation is at war with someone else (not me by the way).

An idea comes to my mind. They are suspect and anyone can attack them. Noone can support them (without becoming criminal). And nobody can shoot me without CONCOND intervention in a limited engagement. OK, if I go in fast and hit hard I will probabpy be able to finish one of them. So I fit the first Catalyst in my life, ever.

Carefully I observes the local channel. The wardec with the mercenaries has been invalidated by CONCORD, but the 24h until all hostile activities have to cease, have not passed yet. Better get not caught. After reconsidering I grab the Cheetah again to scan down my victims and be able to land real close. Works great. Hop into Catalyst and go!

My mind blurrs a bit, as even in my capsule the fingers started shaking really hard, as soon as I hit the warp button. I indeed land very close to an Osprey and a Navitas. I go for whatever is closest. I think it was the Osprey. Lock! Shoot! Ah… Approach… Why is it not shooting!? Blast it! Next target and shoot it. Ah… what is happening here? Now I can widen my view a bit. OK, two are in a limited engangement and green-blueish. Why can’t I shoot? Hm… Why can’t I lock? Ah, they got away under the force field. Drat!

I dock up and think. Probably I should have fit a webber and a scrambler to prevent them from groveling back under the force field. Me stupid ganking newby! While I think about that, I see the following lines of my potential victims in local:

[ 2015.11.02 13:23:02 ] Lad1 > ganker?
[ 2015.11.02 13:24:18 ] Lad2 > i think so…
[ 2015.11.02 13:24:52 ] Lad3 > no
[ 2015.11.02 13:25:16 ] Lad2 > ok… sorry! ☻

While thinking further and about range to force field and the time I would have for shooting, I decide to try a different approach. ALPHA! Didn’t I have a Tornado somewhere? A right, it’s in Hrokkur. And.. right 1400mm already fitted. After some EFTing around I have a fit that, I think, will be able to deliver a significant alpha strike to plopp one of them at one shot.

I go get my Cheetah and fly to Heild, leave it there, and use the pod to get to Hrokkur and retrieve the Tornado. After considering how to get this ship to Teosusude I stumble across some warp core stab in my hangar. OK, lets try this. Molden Heath has heavy gate camps rather rarely. I do not even see anybody as I warp to Teonusude. I start fitting the Tornado as planed and want to get ready to blast someone to pieces as… Darn, no warp in!

I decide to go to Heild again and pick up my Cheetah. After jumping to Bosena I see someone at the gate in a Hurricane Fleet Issue. A no problem I’m in a pod, He can’t capture me. Warp to Heild and jump. Strange, why is my pod aaaaliiiiigniiiiing sooooo slooooow!? And why am I not warping!? F***!!! I’m still in the Tornado!

At least I am aware enough to lock the Hurricane and aproach the gate. Damn, no propulsion module fitted! My first shot takes him to 25% shields. Yay? Maybe I’ll suvive!? He’s propably awake now, I say to myself with a weak grin on my face. But he knows what he is doing. Aproaches fast and shreds me to pieces. At least I get my pod out. As this conversation was in local I take the liberty to publish it here:

[ 2015.11.02 14:33:00 ] Zoe Hendershot > Gnaa
[ 2015.11.02 14:33:04 ] Highspeedlimo > gf
[ 2015.11.02 14:33:23 ] Zoe Hendershot > shit fingh, tought I was in a capsule… ^^
[ 2015.11.02 14:33:40 ] Highspeedlimo > it happens to the best of us mate
[ 2015.11.02 14:33:55 ] Highspeedlimo > you flying solo out here?

As you can see, I was really embarrassed.

But what happens then, is a bit of “Butterfly Effect” commerial video. We come to talk. My name seem’s familiar, as I mention my market hub. Not very much later I’m in a fleet together with a mate (Predator989) of him, plotting to the destruction of criminals at a place formerly known as my spot.

I love Low-Sec and it’s inhibitants!

This now, is the first time, ever, I give a warp-in for others. Submarining around with my Cheetah, I aproach the Typhoon, they brought now to repair they POS guns. At 10km distance to the targets the guys warp in (and I should have boated or warped away erlier as they decloak me). These two guys did not only take down the Typhoon but also an Osprey.

And, oh, my, god, did this feel good!

Andrenalin, Satisfaction, Gratefulness – can’t type, can’t think, can’t speak.

Love you two! Love Low-Sec! Love EVE!

❤

Wardec!? Oo

This weekend Trashyard Inc. has received a war declaration.

First reaction: Why would someone declare a war on a corporation located in Low-Sec? They can shoot us anyways…

Second reaction: Hm, maybe they want to grab the moon for some evaporate deposits or silicates. And maybe they want to prevent us from bringing in stuff from High-Sec? Let’s maybe better dismantle the research lab and the reprocessing array as they are not needed anyways.

One day later, one minute after the war went active, POS shooting started. But hey, WTF no reinforced towers, all shield perfectly at 100%! And where are the opponents!?

Third reaction: A warning, like put your stuff away and you can keep it?

OK, let’s look for that war-deccer – evewho, eve-hunt, eve-kill and all that. OK, obviously some kind of Russian mercenaries. Some hours later I found a Trashyard Inc. POS on their killboard.

WTF? Both POSes were still there!

Then it dawned on me: They removed a Small Minmatar Tower in Teonusude we had there, offline for ore compression. Thus no reinforcement mode. We totally forgot about this POS.

Funny thing is, that the contractors of the mercenaries could have just asked, instead of making a foe and spending lots of ISK on mercenaries for not having the balls themselves.

We’ll see. Maybe Trashyard Inc. goes to war to hunt some High-Sec bears.

The Euphoria has abated

After the euphoria of reaching my first set goal, it has slowly died down. The decition “Everything T2” has some implications I did not think of in the first place. First I need to create a new tool that can caluculate my manufacturing and invetion costs (OK, not so hard – forget that). Second I need to decide where I will copy the BPOs. Third I need to decide where to invent. At least production can go on at Pator Tech School.

Most headace gives me the coping and the inventing. As I do not want to change the location for my shop, I have two alternatives.

The first possibility is to move all BPOs for coping/intenting to a station with a research service. I would then work on BPC at Pator Tech School. But I somehow hate this thought. Flying to a POS in the same system is one thing. Flying to a station in a different system to get stuff very often is different.

The second option is to setup a POS in Heild and do the stuff there. It should probably be a large tower, as I allready experienced that small towers get shot sooner or later in Low-Sec (twice). What formerly worked well for researching BPOs does not work well for coping and inveting. The Mobile Research Laboratory needs 500tf CPU, but the Mobile Design Laboratory uses 600tf. The former fit well within the CPU margin I had at a reaction tower. The second does not. *grrr*

Off course I could dedicate a large tower to this, but the cost of 500 Million ISK per month are somewhat putting me off. I could also redesign the reaction tower to a differnt setup with more CPU margin. But this would probably make the reactions non- or almost non-profitable (and in the end the same total cost).

On the other hand this would enable me to add more silos to the setup and give me more freedom in maintainance of the reactions. So:

  • less hauling stuff: more fun
  • produce, copy and invent accelerated: more fun
  • more time for producing stuff instead of maintaining POS: more fun
  • Less profit: can’t eat ISK anyways

I think I just made a decition on that! Yay, go me! Here comes new Euphoria… 😉

Today I managed to fulfill my first set goal regarding this market hub, that was created from scratch. Now costumers are able to buy everything they might need for a completely T1-fitted T1-ship (including the ship) up to cruiser-size hulls.

So PvP newbies, Low-Sec and Low-Tec fans out there, come to Heild!

Lets go a bit into details what you can get here.

You can get any T1 frigate, T1 destroyer, T1 cruiser or T1 idustrial.

Here is an example:

[Vexor, Pr0-F1t]
Gyrostabilizer I
Heat Sink I
Magnetic Field Stabilizer I
Layered Plating I
Capacitor Flux Coil I

Remote Sensor Dampener I, Scan Resolution Dampening Script
Passive Targeter I
Shield Boost Amplifier I
Shield Recharger I

Dual 150mm Railgun I, Iridium Charge M
Heavy Pulse Laser I, Infrared M
720mm Howitzer Artillery I, Proton M
Medium Remote Hull Repairer I

Medium Higgs Anchor I
Medium Algid Hybrid Administrations Unit I
Medium Tracking Diagnostic Subroutines I

Light Hull Maintenance Bot I x1
Mining Drone I x1
Salvage Drone I x1
Berserker SW-900 x1
Acolyte EV-300 x1
Warrior TP-300 x1
Praetor TD-900 x1
Curator I x1
Wasp I x1
Nanite Repair Paste x50

You can get any T1 rig you might want to fit to those ships. You want to fit a “Medium Drone Control Range Augmentor I”? – No problem, it’s available.

You can get any module you might want to fit to you ship. You want a “Capacitor Flux Coil I” or an “Auto Targeting System I”? – Again, no problem.

You like Drones? Sure why not use that “Berserker TP-900”?

Any T1 ammunition is available too. Even if you decide to shot a “Heavy Defernder Missile I” you will find that here (If it is not out of stock due to the extremly high demand on this item).

For a detailed, always-up-to-date list look here.

So, what’s in it in the future, one might ask. Well, isn’t this pretty obvious?

“Everything T2”!

Now where was that shop?

One or two might have asked themselfes, “Now, what station is he talking about!?”

One, who asked that herself is me – after reading my posts again. I noticed that I mentioned Molden Heath but no solar system. So lets unveil the location.

The Molden Heath Mom-and-Pop-Store is located in Heild X – Moon 1 – Pator Tech School. I made a picture of the station for all of you.

Heild X - Moon 1 - Pator Tech SchoolYou can see a nice view on the station with the Heild X’s first moon and the Heild system’s sun in the background. In the foreground you can see my Mastodon crossing from right to left. If you watch really close you can see me waving in my capsule. 😉

There are reasons why I choose exactly this station.

First, it’s a school. This means all standard skill are available via NPC orders. So there is no need for me to buy skills books and dedicate market slots for supplying them.

Second, it has a production facility. So I can produce all stuff locally without the need to haul bulky ship hulls. With the introduction of the new industy systems and ore compression, I am now able to haul big amounts of minerals in form of compressed ore to this station and reprocess them there.

Third, it is located on the “Molden-Heath-Low-Sec-Ratting-Ring”, a 18 jump route building a circle. Also the number of jumps per day are the second highest of all Molden Heath low security space systems. This means lots of customer flying by.

MoldenHeath_HeildForth, it’s located close to Teonusude, which is the closest trade hub in the region. It’s no match for Rens, Jita or Amarr. But you get most stuff you might need immediatily.

Twentyseventh, there a two level 4 distribution agents available on the station. 😛

By the way, Egbinger XI – Moon 3 – Republic Fleet Testing Facilities was another candidate station to choose from. It’s advantage is, that laboratories are available. On the other hand, not all skill books are available.

Let’s brag!

OK! I just found this marvelous site: http://eve-marketdata.com

I has a feature to rank all stations regarding their market sell orders and sell volume. Molden Heath Mom-and-Pop-Store has just reached rank 12 in sell volume of all 99 Molden Heath stations. Looking at the number of sell orders, its rank 5 is even better.

What I like even more is, that this site has a history function dating back approximitaly to the beginning of Molden Heath Mom-and-Pop-Store. He here’s some data, how this little shop evolved of the years.

Rank

This graph show the ranking of Heild X – Moon 1- Pator Tech School starting April 2012.

orders&volume

The second graph is much more interesting for me as I can see how the cash increased over the years starting with the 100.000.000 ISK back in Spring of 2012.

So to all people out there who bought stuff from this store: Thank you!

I have a Dream

There is one thing on my mind that I cannot let go. Right now I have got a little shop in Molden Heath, but when I’m grown up I would like to have a own system in player 0.0 that belongs to me. And only to me! There I would have an outpost. And this outpost would be a harbour for all players looking to buy or sell something. Everyone is welcome who is not here to shoot me.

I imagine it like a pirates nest. Where the wrenches linger, rum is counted in barrels not bottles and you get everything you want (and even everything you didn’t know you wanted it). A place to recover, spend money and buckle up for the next fight. A save, (ups, this is EVE, right? ;-)) neutral zone, respected by neigbours.

A little Summary

Posted by zoehendershot on 2014/02/20
Posted in: Mom-and-Pop. Tagged: EVE Online, MMORP. Leave a comment

Now it is two years later. Time for a little summary.

So I started with 100.000.000,00 ISK.

Looking at my sell orders I see roughly 1.100.000.000,00 ISK. Now of course this is the number of ISK I want to earn not what I did earn. So I reveal a little secret. I am planing with a gross margin of approx. 50%. Expensive items have a lower, inexpensive items have a higher gross margin. Taking this into account I seem to have managed to aquire 550.000.000,00 ISK in goods.

Now, I must admit that I have a obsessive compulsive disorder to pile BPOs. Often I did not have enough money to afford the minerals to rebuild sold items, due to buying BPOs all the time. These were the times I had to go begging for credit from other departments. But I paided back all dues! OK, right now I owe 21.000.000,00 ISK to the POS department… You got me there. But what I accually wanted to write is how much the BPOs are worth right now (only to buy them unresearched from NPCs). That’s 917.500.000,00 ISK.

Did I mention that the division has no cash on its account? Why was that again? Right, I’m buying BPO like crazy.

So I accumulated roughly 2 Bil ISK in two years. That’s 2.7 Mil ISK per day in average. Not too bad for refilling the market orders and producing stuff once or twice every week.

The Inspiration

Posted by zoehendershot on 2014/02/04

Back in February 2012 – life in High-Sec got boring running Level 4 missions – I stumbled over a report from Nurge84 (https://www.eveger.de/forum/showthread.php?47206-Experiment-Leben-im-Low-Sec). He wrote about his experience living in low security space.

That article finally gave me the inertia to do what I had been thinking about the one or a lot more sleepness nights in bed: Live in Low-Sec and seed an own market hub by building it from scratch.

So I put some money to an extra corp acount only dedicated to the Low-Sec market hub. Starting with 100.000.000 ISK. Not much, but enough for the experiment. I planned producing all at the market hub by myself. So I set out to buy some BPO. As I am a Minmatar fan, I concentrated on buying the Minmatar frigate BPOs, the small projectile weapon BPO, the small projectile ammunition BPOs. The plan was to first sell Tech 1 stuff and then add in Tech 2 stiff where it fits.

The shop opened up in March 2012 and is still running. Till now I never regretted doing it.

Cash is coming slowly but steady.

To be continued…
